A group of women from Knox Church go on weekend retreat in the spring and the fall. Retreats take place at Crieff Hills Retreat Centre, the Presbyterian Church in Canada’s retreat centre in Puslinch. From Friday evening until Sunday afternoon, they gather at Dove House to share a restful and refreshing weekend of fellowship, discussion, and good food and to enjoy the natural beauty of the countryside.
Participants share in providing and preparing the meals for the group and in the cost of renting the retreat house. Dove House will accommodate 24 people and women are welcome to come for just part or all of the weekend.
2020 Fall Retreat dates: September 25 - 27 Cancelled
2021 Spring Retreat dates: May 28 - 30
2021 Fall Retreat dates: September 24 - 26
We meet on Friday at 6 pm for a delicious dinner at the Sunset Villa restaurant right next to Crieff Hills. Since dinner reservations must be made in advance, numbers are needed. After dinner we go to Dove House at Crieff Hills. During the weekend, shared teams are responsible for one meal. Let Yvonne know if you will be coming so that numbers can be organized for meals. But if you are not able to join us for the whole weekend, and find time at the last minute come anytime during the weekend. Enjoy the fellowship, fun, food and the beautiful surroundings at Crieff Hills. All women are welcome.
Please contact Yvonne in person or by email at [email protected]
When and Where Does the Book Club Meet?
The last Monday of the month in the Community Room with the exception of December, July and August. Meeting times are changed to 7:15 pm.
All meetings will be held in the Community Room during the COVID-19.
Anyone is welcome to share their opinions of the selected book and join in some lively discussion.
How Do I Borrow the Books?
Books are chosen from the Guelph Public Library Book Club list and descriptions.
One month in advance of the meeting date, the Guelph Public Library provides the club with copies of the book which members may borrow and read at their leisure.
Books must be returned to the church on, or before, the night of its discussion.
The Book Club is always open to suggestions from readers regarding future selections for the club.
Any adult reader is welcome. Come and join us – and bring a friend.
