I'm New!
Whether you are looking for a church family, investigating Christianity, visiting from out of town, trying to find direction for your life, looking for a friendly church family for your kids, or just checking us out – YOU are welcome at Knox!
Sunday worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. and lasts for about one hour. Our worship service is for all age groups and includes music, congregational singing, prayers, children’s time, Scripture readings and a sermon.
Parking
Parking for Sunday Services is available free of charge on all downtown streets as well as in the RBC and BMO parking lots on Quebec Street -- the banks are closed on a Sunday and these parking lots are available to the public. We recommend coming 10 – 15 minutes early. That will give you time to park, and find a seat before the church service begins.
What Should I Wear?
You will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles, from jeans to more formally. Please dress the way you feel most comfortable.
What Do You Provide For Children?
Children and babies are welcome to attend worship. There is a Nursery for children 3 years and under. Ask a Greeter for its location in the lower level.
At the back of the sanctuary there is a special area for young families.
Children aged 4 and up are welcome to attend Church School. The children and youth stay in the service until the “Children’s Story Time.” At that time, the children are invited to meet the Pastor or another adult at the front of the church on the front pew. After that, the Church School teachers take them to their classes in another location.
If you are visiting with children, please speak to an usher for more information.
Where Do I Enter?
There are two entrances – from the parking lot on Baker St. at the Chapel Lane entrance and at the front entrance on Quebec St.
There are stairs from either entrance up to the sanctuary. Please let the Greeter who will welcome you at the door if you would like assistance or information.
I Have a Physical Disability. Where Should I Enter and Sit?
If you have difficulty walking, there is an elevator at both entrances.
If you have a wheelchair, enter from ground level through the Chapel Lane doors at Baker St. parking lot. You will find an elevator immediately in front of you.
In the sanctuary, you can sit either at the front or the back. Please ask for help.
I Have a Hearing Disability and/or Need Large Print
Hearing assistance is available for the hearing impaired. Ask an usher for assistance.
Large Print bulletins are available and include the hymns.
Does Your Church Take an Offering. Am I Expected to Give?
Some members are on an automatic withdrawal plan and do not put anything on the offering plate. Please do not feel any obligation to give when you visit.
How Will I Know What To Do?
An usher will hand you a bulletin on the way in. Our service is easy to follow. The choir at the front helps people know when to sit or stand. Words for hymns are in the hymn books in the pew in front of you.
How Do I Get to Know People Better?
Following the church service, coffee hour is held in Metcalf Hall on the first and third Sunday. Come for a cup of coffee, tea or juice and a time of fellowship. Let someone know that you are new. Ask them to show you around. We want to meet you.
If you would like to find out more about the congregation please talk to one of our greeters who would be very happy to discuss how Knox can become part of your life.
You can also help yourself to our Welcome Brochure located at the entrances to the Sanctuary or in Metcalf Hall.
